Senior Yearbook Portrait Session

Frequently Asked Questions

This is your Final Yearbook Portrait. Make it your best yet!

Who Needs to Schedule This Session?

Rising Seniors Need To Schedule This Session Over the Summer Before Senior Year Begins. Typically in July or August.

What is the Process?

Your senior yearbook session is a more detailed and refined portrait experience than the standard annual school picture. Here’s what to expect, step by step:

Visit Your School’s Redford Page:
Click on “Schools We Serve” in the menu above, then find and select your school. Your school’s dedicated page will list available portrait dates.

Choose a Date & Time:
Select a time that works for both you and a parent or guardian to attend. We highly recommend a parent be present during the session to help with final image selection on site.

Arrive for Your Session:
The session is relaxed, easy, and won’t take long. Your Redford photographer will guide you through the entire process, from posing to reviewing your images.

Make Your Selection On Site:
After your photos are taken, you’ll review them right away with help from your photographer. A final image will be selected at the session.

Retouching & Proof Delivery:
Your chosen image will go through basic retouching and enhancement. Within 7 days, the final proof will be sent to the email address used when scheduling.

Yearbook Submission & Print Options:
The retouched portrait will be delivered directly to your school’s yearbook advisor. You'll also have the opportunity to purchase prints—something we hope you'll consider to keep this special milestone preserved at home. If you choose to order, prints will be mailed to your home within 2 weeks of purchase.

We’re honored to capture this important moment for you. If you have any questions, we’re always happy to help!

How Does Someone Dress for this Session?

For a classic portrait in a top:
We recommend wearing a solid-color top—dark tones photograph best. Long sleeves are suggested, as they provide a more formal and flattering look in portraits. Jewelry can add a nice touch but is completely optional.

For a traditional jacket and tie portrait:
We suggest wearing a suit-style jacket with a button-down collared shirt. A tie is strongly encouraged to complete the look. If you need help tying your tie, your Redford photographer will be available to assist you on site.

For those choosing to wear the traditional drape:
Redford Photography will provide the drape. Seniors who choose this option must bring a friend or relative to assist with putting it on, as it can be difficult to position alone. We recommend wearing a thin-strapped top underneath so the shoulders can be fully exposed, which is part of the traditional drape style.

What is 'The Drape'

Redford Photography will provide the drape. Seniors who choose this option must bring a friend or relative to assist with putting it on, as it can be difficult to position alone. We recommend wearing a thin-strapped top underneath so the shoulders can be fully exposed, which is part of the traditional drape style.
